KappAhl: CEO donates professorship

Christian W. Jansson, President and CEO of KappAhl, is making a private donation to Lund University through the Christian W. Jansson Professorship foundation. The donation will establish a permanent professorship in the subject of Rhetoric.

Rhetoric is a subject that the donor strongly links to leadership. "Leadership deals with the ability to communicate," says Jansson. "A speech is a natural part of students' education in the US, but in Sweden we don't foster the ability to speak to an audience. For Sweden to compete internationally we need to improve our rhetoric."

Through this donation Christian W. Jansson will be helping to strengthen society's art in speaking. Many people testify that he is a very good speaker and writer. "I have a genuine interest in rhetoric," he says.

He has an MBA from Lund University. In addition to President and CEO of KappAhl he is also Chairman of the Board of Semcon AB. The private donation of SEK 25 million was handed over today in Lund to the University's rector Göran Bexell.
