Absolute climate emissions down by 5 percent

Kappahl Group had a strong year in terms of both sales and customer satisfaction, reporting record revenue of over SEK 5 billion and a 4 percent increase in produced volume. At the same time, the Group reduced its absolute climate emissions by five percent, reaching a total of 150 thousand tons of CO₂. Kappahl Group's CEO, Elisabeth Peregi, is pleased:

"Our ability to grow while reducing our absolute climate emissions proves that growth and ambitious sustainability goals are not mutually exclusive. This year’s report shows we are taking decisive steps toward our higher purpose – to create a responsible world of fashion. This is not a utopian dream; it’s a real opportunity."

More secondhand, improved product quality, and fiber-level traceability

Several sustainability achievements were made 2024. Kappahl Group moved closer to its goal of using 100% certified or licensed materials that ensure lower impact on people and the environment – now at 95%. Through close collaboration with suppliers, the Group now has traceability down to the fiber level across its entire supply chain.

Efforts to improve product quality also paid off. In addition to receiving top marks in independent product tests (for example Testfakta), customers have reported better guidance on garment care – key to extending the life of products.

The Group’s Vice President Sustainability Sandra Roos also highlights the company’s rapid growth in the secondhand segment, with sales nearly tripling in the past year:

"Wearing garments more times is one of the main keys to a sustainable, circular fashion industry. This year, we’ve expanded our circular offerings – now over 50 stores across Norway, Finland, Sweden, and the UK accept and sell secondhand items. We’ve also launched a consumer-to-consumer online solution in collaboration with the platform reCRQL," says Sandra Roos, Vice President Sustainability at Kappahl Group.
