Our sustainability targets

Climate footprint halved, a range designed for the circular economy, and traceability from fibres to garments. These are some of our key sustainability targets.

At the Kappahl Group, we are committed to actively transitioning our business to a sustainable model. In the future, clothes will be as essential as they are today, and we want to be part of that future. The need for clothes must be balanced with the needs of the natural environment.

Reducing our impact on the environment is an ongoing commitment and we will continue to drive the move towards sustainable consumption and a more inclusive and fairer society. We will design clothes that can last longer and be produced with fewer adverse human and environmental impacts.

Our goals

To achieve our sustainability targets, we are focusing on these three key areas; climate and environment, social sustainability, and transparency and commitment.

We will reduce our emissions to align with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. We seek to ensure safe, healthy and fair working conditions and that people are treated with dignity and respect across our supply chain. In addition, it is important for us to be transparent about our journey towards a sustainable and circular fashion experience.

  • In 2026, our entire range will be 100 per cent traceable, from fibre to finished garment.
Progress: In 2025, we traced 95 per cent of our purchase orders, from fibre to finished garment. Our entire jeans range is already fully traceable.

  • In 2026, at least half of our range will be produced for a circular economy.
Progress: Today, 37 per cent of our range is designed to be used for a long time, by one or more users.

  • By 2032, our climate footprint will have been reduced by 50 per cent, with 2022 as the base year.*
Progress: Between 2022 and 2025, we reduced our emissions by 30 per cent.

  • By 2040, the Kappahl Group will have net zero carbon emissions.*

* Our targets are based on what the latest climate science says is necessary to meet the goal of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The targets have been validated by the Science Based Target initiative

By 2040, we will be climate neutral.
