Praised as this year’s blooming company

KappAhl has today received the award this year’s blooming company. The prize is awarded by the Mayflower charity foundation and is given away by Sweden’s queen Silvia. The reason why KappAhl gets this award is because of the commitment to improving conditions for children and combat child poverty.
- KappAhl has a great moral responsibility that all members of society. Our cooperation with the Mayflower foundation is a good and appreciated way to take the responsibility, says Christian W. Jansson, CEO of KappAhl.

The Mayflower is Sweden’s largest charity foundation for children and their aim is to improve the situation for children in Sweden and to fight child poverty. The motivation of the award this year’s blooming company says:

“KappAhl has enthusiastically embraced and are committed to the Mayflower’s work for economically disadvantaged children in Sweden. In addition to fulfil the criteria required on a blooming company such as assist and strengthen the children’s collection, they have also taken the initiative to create campaigns and activities with the aim of contributing to the Mayflower’s work. KappAhl has also contributed to convey information about the Mayflower both internally and externally and beyond this showed a great interest in issues concerning children’s situation”.

-During the collection period, which lasted for two weeks, children in Sweden gathered 49.5 million Swedish crowns, said Lena Holm, Mayflowers general secretary. It is a record result for the mayflower. To sell directly to our associate companies is a new arena for us and we are very happy for the dedication and reception KappAhl showed the kids that sold the Mayflower.

- It was a wonderful experience when we had “Sweden’s best sellers” in our office, says Christian W. Jansson. There was a direct visible evidence of what a joy KappAhl’s social commitment can create, in both directions.
