WORK AT KAPPAHL
KappAhl shall be an attractive employer. All our employees, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, religious faith, sexual orientation or disability, have the same opportunities and prospects. Thanks to systematic involvement with safety, the working environment, the environment and KappAhl’s employee Attitude Survey, KAS, we are able to review the overall situation in the workplace annually. We work actively with recruitment, training and career and management development. Concrete measures to create healthy workplaces and focusing on health care and the working climate have resulted in reduced absence due to illness. KAPPAHL ACADEMY
At KappAhl, we have many professions and we place great importance on providing all employees with the chance to grow both in competence and as individuals. Therefore, we encourage individual initiative and learning in daily work. However, we have also developed an extensive training programme. During 2008/2009, 1100 people took part in courses, amounting to 18,000 hours. The courses include various specialist courses. A large part of the skills and employee development is concentrated locally. The teachers include KappAhl's own specialists and guest lecturers. The KappAhl Academy is aimed at regional managers and store managers, among others. Since KappAhl is an international Group, this also provides the opportunity to work in different positions in different countries.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND DIVERSITY
KappAhl actively seeks to make the most of those qualities that an equal gender balance and ethnic and cultural diversity contribute. In an employee survey (2008), 31% of the employees in Sweden said that one or both of their parents were born outside of Sweden (c.f. SCB 17%). Since the majority of our employees are women, we welcome more male applicants for our vacancies. Our priority is for our recruitment process to be free of discrimination.
