KappAhl has about 4 900 employees and over 380 stores. The majority work in one of our KappAhl stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and the Czech Republic. At the Head Office in Mölndal, we work with purchasing and design, marketing, IT, finance, product management and support for store sales and more. Other employees are to be found in the distribution centre, in offices in KappAhl's sales countries and in our production offices in Lithuania, Turkey, India, Bangladesh and China. Our garments are styled by our own designers.
KAPPAHL AS AN EMPLOYER
KappAhl is an attractive employer. All our employees, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, religious faith, sexual orientation or disability, have the same opportunities and prospects. Thanks to our systematic involvement with safety, the work environment, the environment and our employee Attitude Survey, KAS, we are able to review the overall situation in the workplace annually. We work actively with recruitment, training, as well as career and leadership development, including through the KappAhl Academy. Concrete measures to create healthy workplaces, as well as focusing on health care and the working climate have resulted in reduced absence due to illness. To identify new talent and ideas and to share our knowledge, we have been cooperating with various colleges and universities for many years.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND DIVERSITY
KappAhl actively seeks to make the most of those qualities that are contributed by an equal gender balance and ethnic and cultural diversity. In an employee survey (2008), 31% of employees in Sweden said that one or both of their parents were born outside of Sweden (c.f. SCB 17%). Since the majority of our employees are women, we welcome more male applicants for our vacancies. Our priority is for our recruitment process to be free of discrimination.
We want to project a good reflection of society and our customers. Women dominate our industry and we aim for a good balance between the sexes. KappAhl’s Management Team comprises five women and three men and the Board of Directors comprises six women and three men. This makes us one of the listed companies with the most women in higher management.
